A Feast Day of Reflection and Community
Recently our school community came together in a spirit of reverence and gratitude to celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop , Australia’s first saint. Led by Deacon Andrew from Yeronga Catholic Parish and our senior students, the liturgy was a moving tribute to a woman whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
Our celebration of St Mary of the Cross's Feast Day was a heartfelt reminder of the values that unite us as a Catholic community.
Co-founder of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Saint Mary of the Cross dedicated her life to education and social reform, particularly for those most in need. Her unwavering commitment to justice and compassion laid the foundation for inclusive Catholic education in Australia. At our school, we proudly carry forward her mission, embracing her wisdom and values in all that we do.
Inspired by Mary MacKillop’s call to “never see a need without doing something about it,” we encourage our students to be active participants in their communities—whether in the classroom, within the school, or through outreach initiatives that support others.
Her life continues to guide our journey, shaping a community where compassion and action go hand in hand.
