With recent bushfires devastating many in our community Brisbane Catholic Education is coordinating an effort to raise funds for those affected by these fires. Money raised will be given to the St Vincent De Paul’s bushfire appeal. Our Year 5/6 students have been interested in finding a way we are able to help those in need and we have decided this coordi-nated effort is the best way to do this. As students of St Sebastian’s we aim to instill Catholic social teaching of giving to those in need. The students are very much proactive in wanting to help those impacted by recent climatic events. You will notice stu-dents from Year 5 and 6 with white buckets walking around the school both before and after school. Any money you can do-nate would be very much appreciated. Our student leaders are aware, at this time of year, we request many donations for those less fortunate than ourselves. They have deemed it best to use this method of collection rather than to hold a big event. The white buckets will also be available in the front office during the day and will be visible during other events being hosted at the school in these last few weeks. Our student leaders have set a large target and you will notice a large heart, outside the office being ‘filled’ as our donations increase. We sincerely thank you for your support and hope you, or your child is able to spare some change for those desperately in need.
