This year’s St Sebastian’s Art & Design Show was another success! As many of you will know, this biennial event started as a small school fundraiser some 40 years ago. At the time, art was being exhibited in one of the classrooms and profits made went to our little school. The event has grown over the years and is recognised for its consistently high standard.
Two years ago, the design component was introduced at the St Sebastian’s Art Show which turned out to be a great success. This years’ organising team was set up for a big task to meet the ever increasing expectations of the school community, and they succeeded! We hosted another fantastic Gala Event. Over 300 pieces of art as well as various design items were on display. The food was incredible, the live jazz music just beautiful, the bar very popular and well attended, incredible raffle prizes, and record sales through the kids’ artworks auction.
All was enjoyed by many St Sebastian’s parents, teachers, friends, and family as well as local residents, our sponsors, and many of the exhibiting Artists and Designers. Our children also got to enjoy the event at the Family Fun Day which was held on the Sunday after the Gala Event. This was a sunny and chilled-out day with various kids’ activities, food vans, life music, and another opportunity to enjoy and purchase Art and Design.

We were very fortunate to have raised over $20,000 though the event. These funds will be used by the P&F to assist the school with contributions towards school resources such as computers, grounds maintenance and buses for inter-school sports.
The Art and Design Show team had a wonderful time leading up to the Art and Design Show. Some of us are experienced event organisers, others had to step out of their comfort zone. However, for all of us, it was a wonderful experience and we are proud of what we have achieved!
